Words to Darragh's songs

Come to the Fair

Harlequin dances, summer romances,
Love abounds in the air,
Miracle trances, taking of chances,
Will you not come to the fair?

(la-da-da) Will you not come to the fair?

I saw you waiting, anticipating,
bread in a basket of ware,
think what you're missing, dreaming of kissing,
will you not come to the fair?

(la-da-da) Will you not come to the fair?

People all sing, as we pass through the ring,
and jump o'er the broom hand in hand,
love is the way, and here you can stay,
with a kiss, and a tear, and a hand

(la-da-da) Will you not come to the fair?

Harlequin dances, summer romances,
Love abounds in the air,
Miracle trances, taking of chances,
Will you not come to the fair?

(la-da-da) Will you not come to the fair?

Yule Caorl - Cerridwen and Darragh

I chant this carol still,
starlit upon the hill
there with the harp told
a story of ancient old

Child deep within my womb,
child northland is your home
born to bring light in spring
once more o'er wintry hills I sing

Some silvery melody
sings winter's harmony
earth is sleeping still
and cold, 'neath snow fall's frozen wing

One standing very nigh,
one far across the sky
both born of love and light
which ends and starts this winter's night

Turn seasons, turn me true
as I awaited you
your years will tell long
on Yule as the evening song

Fa la la la, fa la la,
fa la la la, fa la la...

Susan Proof

We try to make things Susan proof,
because of things that have gone poof!
in starlit moonlit midnight air,
some things that were no longer there

And other things, to our disdain,
were over zealous to remain
among the great "objets de terre",
they were not wont to be not there

While Susan, with artistic thumb,
is contemplating yonder plumb
and marvels that a fuel price soars
'cause we're plumb outta dinosaurs,

But wakens in the morning light
to newly born days of delight

"Where am I?", the waking question rises,
"Where were you?" its converse emphasizes

And so we make things Susan proof,
in hopes that they will not go poof!
